When you start to plan your wedding, it is very easy to become overwhelmed at the thought of everything you are going to have to address in order to plan your perfect wedding.
You can easily help yourself to take away this stress by breaking your wedding planning down into smaller steps and by building a priority list.
In this way, you will narrow down your focus and so take the whole of your wedding planning down into more manageable tasks.
In order to easily build your priorities list, one of the first things you both should do is to get together and write down what each of you feel are the most important elements that you would like to have at your wedding.
Then, mark the two or three that are the most important to you and on which you would be willing to spend a larger chunk of your wedding budget.
Whether it be the ceremony, the dress, the flowers or the reception, compare both of your lists and see which important elements are on each other's list. These same elements become the priorities for your wedding!
By going through this exercise, not only will you have narrowed down your top priorities for your wedding, but you will also find the items that you might want to splurge a little more on and the items you want to cut back on. Now you can make adjustments to your wedding budget accordingly.
When you have a priority list, you will see which items of your wedding that you can either live without or which you can budget a smaller amount of money for, such as a cellist or a fancy limousine, etc.
You will also be happy to cross these kinds of traditional wedding expenses off of your basic wedding checklist as now there is one less item to plan and pay for.
The money you would have spent on these items could now be diverted to your priority items so that you can truly have your most perfect wedding.
